This policy explains the current deletion flow, retained records, and how to request privacy assistance from Dodees Affairs.
1. Request Account Deletion
Use the account deletion control in the app. If you cannot access it, email [email protected] with Account deletion request as the subject and identify the email or phone number linked to your account.
Do not send a password, OTP, or payment-card details. We may need to verify account ownership before acting.
2. The Current 60-Day Grace Period
The current app schedules deletion with a 60-day grace period. The account stops appearing in discovery while deletion is pending. The app displays the scheduled deadline.
Before the deadline, you can return and choose Keep my account to cancel the request. A cancelled request and a completed deletion are different states. After the deadline, eligible account data enters the deletion process; background processing and legitimate retention can affect when all eligible records are removed.
3. What May Remain
Some records may remain for lawful purposes, including:
- transaction, payout, payment-dispute, or accounting records;
- pending financial obligations, gift settlements, and related audit trails;
- fraud-prevention, safety, moderation, or enforcement records;
- content or messages already received by other people;
- legal obligations or disputes;
- appropriately retained backups and technical records.
A deletion request does not promise immediate erasure of every record or another person's copy of an interaction. Retained information remains subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
4. Purchases and Subscriptions
Account deletion does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription or remove an outstanding payment obligation. Review the relevant store's subscription controls and supported payment process separately. Seek support before deleting if you need help with a pending transaction or eligible withdrawal.
5. Access, Correction, and Other Requests
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or a copy of your information. Email [email protected], explain the request, and identify the relevant account.
We may request proportionate ownership verification, clarify the request, or explain a lawful exception. We respond within the period required by applicable law. No fixed response promise replaces those requirements.
6. Escalation and Contact
You may raise a concern with the relevant data protection authority, including the Nigeria Data Protection Commission where applicable: https://ndpc.gov.ng.
